ESTABLISHED 1844

Zoning

The residents of Lake Township established zoning for the unincorporated areas of the Township in November, 1961. To assist the Township Trustees in the administration of its regulations, the Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals were created consisting of five members of the community who are appointed to each committee. The zoning inspector assists residents, business and industry leaders on a daily basis and issues zoning certificates. The villages of Millbury and Walbridge administer their own local zoning regulations. Combined, the Lake Township community consists of 10,972 residents according to the 2010 census. Given Lake Township’s proximity to the interstate highway system, railroads and airports, it is an ideal location to raise a family, and create or expand business and industry.
